Another great download from Penguin. Brilliant effect, well explained, easy to do.
I'm
fan of the 21 Card effect as when a ask a spectator (especially a young one ) to perform a trick for
me they will very often do the standard 21 card trick. But this version will fool them and even
fellow magicians I'm sure.
Cannot wait use it !
Question - Does the chosen card always end up in the 11th position as shown in the two examples on the video or will the chosen card when turned face up be in a random position such as 9th or 12th or 15th or 11th position? I don’t know which of the two is most convincing or fooling but if it always ends up in the 11th spot then the lay people who know the original mathematical method may just assume they are seeing the same trick (even though they are not because of the lack of deals) so for them knowing the card could be somewhere else on some occasions then it will negate the comparison. For magicians, who know the original method of the chosen card lands in the 11th spot slay as the comparison is blown apart by the lack of multiple deals. I’m buying this anyway as curious and will await to be surprised!
Can this be done with a borrowed deck without any set-up?
The trick as taught uses your own deck and minimal set up - but it is not difficult at all to think of multiple ways that this trick could be done with a borrowed deck with a little bit of imagination and/or
research.
To answer my own comment above - now I have purchased this trick - the chosen card does not always end up in the 11th position. And IMHO, this makes it better as lay audiences who know the original 21 card trick will definitely not be able to assume it is that trick. And Magicians who know the original 21 card trick will be stumped wherever the chosen card lands (but if it does happen to land in the 11th spot then they will be really stumped - and by my estimation the card will land in the 11th position 25-50% of the time depending on how it is presented. Mike Powers teaches a second presentation at the end of the teaching video that is pure gold and that version is even better magician fooled (you will have to purchase to find out as this second presentation is not shown in the promo video or in the description).
Hi can you tell me if this is a video tutorial or is it a printed tutorial My eyes are not too good for reading but I could look at a video tutorial but I could look at a video tutorial OK can you let me know thank you in advance you know thank you in advance John
@kjones069 is the 2nd presentation a mentalism version? If so does he give credit to anyone for the mentalism version? Just curious as I helped Mike create a mentalism version where he gave me written credit in a publishing.
