When I thought of MUMMY MAGIC for my seasonal shows at Children's Fairyland Park, I wanted something
light to begin a set and this seemed a good bet. It looks wonderful and while it's no serious
mystery it's fun and different, which was the upside...but is really fragile which is the downside.
Also, I discovered there was no internet address to access the instructions. I got that
from a friend and started working with the prop. I was very careful and, in five performances and
weeks of rehearsals, had only one minor tear which I fixed with clear tape...
In
performance I discovered it played MUCH stronger than I ever imagined! The audience liked the
character graphics, were surprised when the Mummy"speaks"(ventriloquism is SO much easier, wearing
that mask...), were truly astonished by the "bandages" (a mouth coil)and gave a BIG laugh at the
sight of the Mummy in his boxer shorts.
Altogether it was SO well received that I am sorry
it isn't more sturdy and I'm trying to decide what to do about that. So... an easy 5 for effect,
but only 2 for construction.
