I've always made my own 'ties'. These are more visible as far as thickness, but they have a little less shine. That said, the quality is not bad at all and you won't get this value anywhere else. Definitely workable, and the quality of the instructional video is worth double the price tag you pay for it with the gimmicks. I recommend purchasing this just for the ideas in the project and the backups.
