PROS:
- Performs quick, easy, and undetectable exchanges of cards
- Can be used for
transformation, transposition, animation (turn around card), and restoration effects
- The deck
appears normal to the spectator
- You can make your own gimmick for any deck (possibly w/ out
even a trip to the store)
CONS:
- The deck cannot be examined
- The actual gimmick ties
up about a third of the deck
- Doesnt do anything that cant be done with sleights
The
gimmick is very clever, but points off from the inventor because its a variation of a pre-existing
gimmick. The Exchange only does card exchanges, but it does do them well. Still, you could do
slightly less amazing exchanges using basic slieght of hand, and then you wouldnt have your
spectators wondering why you have to keep sticking cards in the deck in order for the magic to work.
The Exchange can be used to improve existing effects and if youre creative, youll be able to find
numerous uses for it. However, it might be too restricting or impractical for some people to really
use.
