Idk if it's just the package I received but I noticed it doesn't necessarily work as explained in
the video. Without giving too much away, the gimmick itself does not stay on very well/firmly and
the main component is not very strong, either. Perhaps I need more practice but it fell on the floor
multiple times while practicing. I think I'd rather prefer the other previous "pen through" sets but
the real appeal here is to be able to borrow a pen, so I don't want to give up on it just yet. I
just wished it worked as advertised on the included tutorial as well as other YouTube videos I've
come across. In the tutorial video it was mentioned that the rubber piece is what helps it 'stay on'
but on my set, that rubber piece doesn't seem like rubber but more like plastic. Maybe it's old and
dried out? Wish it was a little less cumbersome. At one point of the illusion, you are fumbling with
4 seperate pieces, which is where it can get messy.
Hey FPS! I think the fact that the “extra gimmick” is loose, is because you want to effortlessly remove it when you seemingly hand over the normal pen. If you watching the video as soon as the penetration happens his fingers are immediately holding both components as he displays this. Personally, I do not want the “extra gimmick” grabbing or holding on. I want total control of it being there or not. Y’know?…Hope that helps and happy magishing!
I have the same problem and my gimmicks won’t stay on at all. It’s an internal clearance issue and can be resolved by opening up the gimmick and making it “deeper”.
Yeah, I think I'll just stick to my classic Sharpie through bill with an attached torn gimmick. It leaves no doubt.
