I have a decent collection of coin magic DVDs and if I was to rate them on the quality of the
learning experience I think some would stand out; those presented by good teachers. I’m thinking of
magicians like David Roth and Eric Jones who are able to break moves down into simple steps,
communicate the important details and leave you with confidence that you can do the routines
yourself. Kainoa is a professional teacher and he’s similarly very good at explaining his moves and
routines. I have a couple of his books and it’s great to see the material come to life. There’s a
huge amount of good and practical coin magic in this lecture and much useful discussion about how to
perform it well. Although I’ve seen him live in the UK I’m very pleased to have this have a download
that I can refer to again. At over 3 hours I think it is great value for money. I skipped over the
card magic section which is about 30 minutes so can’t comment on that.
