I believe with this type of method, the final revelation shouldn't be bang on what the spectator said, so for example, if a spectator named 103 thousand, the final revelation should be 102 thousand as it would create more effect in terms of realism.

Also, keeping the prediction at a "near miss" takes off the heat of the spectators thinking it is a mere "trick" and with the right presentation, a nice, strong reaction can be achieved.
