Does it work? Yes. Is it the best or most logical drawing duplication on the market? Not by a long
shot. If you are in a pinch and need a guerrilla method, this is fine. However, the weakness for
me is that they have to give the card back to you before you can read their mind. To me, that
immediately draws suspicion and, if you could really read minds, you would never have to handle the
card. Just my opinion.
then what trick do you recommend
Dan Harlan's "All Seeing Eye" is pretty good. Someone draws a picture or writes a word and folds the business card up and puts it in their hand, then you draw a picture of an eye on a business card and put it in her hand with her card and then you can say what the word/picture is.
I love Drawn Again. It's simple, easy to learn, easy to perform. And the handling taught is very deceptive. Everything happens quickly and naturally. Yes, the subject does have to write down their picture and put it on the stack of business cards. So what? It's part of the routine. Using a peek wallet they would have to do the same. It's not weakness at all. You can nit pick any routine or effect if you want. Dan Harlan's All Seeing Eye is good too. But like any effect, you could nit pick that if you wanted to. Example: If you can really read minds, why do I have to write my thought down? Why does the card have to be folded? Why does the magician have to handle my card? With All Seeing Eye, the magician has to do multiple switches. Etc.
Every effect has advantages and disadvantages.
Drawn Again is one of my favorite drawing duplications because it is easy to do, fun to perform, very deceptive, and gets great reactions. Plus, it's completely impromptu and uses a stack of your business cards and a pen.
