No! This effect doesn't use a PK ring or any magnets.
Everything you need to perform this effect comes in the box.
That said I would have been a bit happier had this gimmick been pre-made - I would have paid extra personally!
It is cool that the DVD explains step by step how to construct the gimmick though.

This product most certainly should have came with gimmick included but sadly no! Just the detailed instruction on how to achieve this effect with any box! Hope you guys enjoy UnBoxing for yourself.
You need to have a super glue , scissors, a ruler , double side stick tape, an exercising knife,to build the gimmick, it's very good learning building the gimmick , I don't understand why people are complaining. Once you learn it you good think out of the box, and make other boxes gimmicks , for example, changing a cigarette box to bills or to a candy box . I'll take this idea for my other ideas, infact i actually had built a gimmick that make the box of cigarette changing to bills from this idea, and I had received a great reaction. knowledge is a good weapon for creative people, & a disaster for lazy people.😊

I actually was given this dvd from a guy in my magic club because he couldn't make the gimmick. He had already destroyed everything that came with it during his attempt at making it, but with that said, everything can be rustled up rather easily. I actually had everything here at the house because I use everything needed all the time making other magic gimmicks. I read one review that states it is only good to use in low lighting, but I don't agree with that. This effect happens when no one is expecting it to happen, and by the time it registers to a spec that something unbelievable just happened...you have moved on. To the guy that says it has to be done in low light, I say all that is needed is a smooth movement that doesn't hesitate or let anyone dwell or stare at the case. Don't bring attention to it while just holding it standing still.....come on, think a little. I think the effect is a great one and it doesn't take long to master the move and the art of ending clean. If you are crafty, this is easily made. Just take your time with it and stay "clean" while making it. If I hadn't gotten this free from someone that just didn't understand it, I would gladly purchase this. I recommend Unboxing. Its a great way to begin your card tricks.
I've just bought this gimmick, but found no elastic bands inside(which is listed provided in the tutorial). Did you found the elastics? Thank you.
yes elastics are included but if you didnt got them contact penguin magic.
I plan to get this item soon if for no other reason to prove (to myself) that I am not just a lazy hobbyist and that I can meet the challenge of making this gimmick. Also it seems like a great way to start a card routine.
