The device is too large to conceal under one's clothes without looking abnormal. Outside of an outdoor stage show where the audience is further away, one's audience will easily tell where the device is hidden. Also, wearing the gimmick will be awkward for the remainder of the show without doing an outfit change. While the effect is neat, I do not recommend doing effects where one's audience can visible tell you are concealing something from them.
