I'm sad to say that I was very disappointed when I watched this explanation. I understand that it's
a psychological effect, but I bought it because I wanted to learn how to do it as seen in the
trailer, what failed to register at the time was that both spectators named a seven. And yes - it
works as in the trailer if they pick a seven, but if they pick any other number, - then shuffling is
involved, - NOT what I had wanted at all. Peter is no doubt a very clever magician, but the trailer
is very misleading.
Just two points: firstly I agree that it's a very poor effect if you have to touch the deck after the number and card are named. Secondly, I think the whole problem with this 'jazz magic' idea is that all it really means is 'this method might not work so be ready to try something else quickly'. It also allows people to sell us stuff that is unreliable yet they can make it sound like it is our fault if we 'can't handle failure'. I'm not impressed.
