I recommend staying away from this for now. My gimmick straight up doesn't work. It doesn't take
long scrolling through the Lux FB page to see that many people are receiving defective units.
The idea is incredible, and the instructions provide lots of ideas in a lot of detail. This is a
5 star idea, but the buggy gimmick zaps it of all of its practicality. I'd wait for batch 2 or 3...

I performed LUX, the people immediately suspect that there are something with the light or this is
the special light. I’m so disappointed.

The shipping and handling of this trick and getting it into my possession was excellent. I was
looking forward to receiving this effect , but unfortunately, it does not live up to the hype. In
the demonstration video, it shows a nice bright light that illuminates an “x” drawn on a spectators
hand… not so in reality. Actually, It is a very, very dim light, even in a darkened room, being held
1” above the skin…making it hard to for anyone to see what I was trying to do. $75 dollars is too
much for yet another lackluster effect to find itself in the “never used” magic drawer.

Im really disappointed in myself that I went with the hype.
All the talk of: "Its the best
trick of the decade!" - Craig Petty etc convinced me that it has to be better than it first seems.
No it isnt. The idea in itself is allright and yes you can use it for many different
tricks. Your creativity is your limit but, its just not that strong of an effect and ...
The two lights dont align so it is pretty obvious and you have to reset it every 5 minutes. That
hasnt been said in the ad copy.
In hinsight I wouldve spent my money rather on "Awaken"
which seems pretty awesome and is in the same price category.

This wouldn't fool a cat. I can't tell you what is so bad without revealing the secret except maybe
to say that the alignment is HORRIBLE making the method obvious to anyone watching. The moment when
the "something" happens is clearly visible because "something" happens in one spot, while "something
else" is happening in a completely different spot. I might compare it to trying to do a double
turnover with cards that are misaligned by nearly the full width of a card. no one would believe it
was a single card.
I didn't see this issue in any of the videos, but it is quite evident in
person. I bought this, and so did a friend, and we both see this same problem.
Great idea.
Shoddy execution.

I've never written a negative comment before but for this I couldn't help ... The creator doesn't
seem to care about the quality of the gimmick... For this trick to work well the lights need to be
correctly overlapped... And it's not the case...worst.. an additional video is made to justify this
default to make people think it's ok... What a rip off to sell a gimmick for 70 bucks that costs
only 5
to 10 bucks max.

Lux is a wonderful, self working, utility capable of many effects. It’s a nice piece of technology
that’s very reasonably priced.
It performs does exactly as advertised. The trailer shows a
full and inedited demonstration. The instructional videos are well explained.
The only
complaint I have is with the battery cartridge. The plastic insert holding the batteries was jammed
into the gimmick. It took me a long and frustrating time to correct the problem. It’s possible that
that problem was unique to my gimmick.

I just received my LUX and tried it out, once with Lloyd's "X" trick and one a repurpose of one of
my oldies but goodies.
Both worked like a charm. The method is well concealed and the UV
principle by itself encourages interest. The props are totally innocuous looking and I was surprised
by how small and plain looking the UV light is (can easily fit on my key ring) and looks like it
belongs.
The UV pen, btw, is apparently made by the "Barnes Ink Co.".....rrrrr, proving
that Lloyd does have a sense of humor.
The instructional videos are superb and promote
creative thinking. And since one can apply the methodology to so many types of magic and mentalism,
especially rebranding classics, the price is a bargain.

I know what you are thinking. Many people complain about the different positions of the bulbs. So
when the light changes, there will be a significant position shift, right? But what I want to say
is, come on! We are all professional magicians. Even if you are an amateur, you know how to deal
with it. 1: If the light outside is too dark, you can let the audience close to the pattern to
shine, and there will be no obvious change. At the same time, you can shake their arms. 2: If the
light is very bright, for example, if you perform in the daytime, it is not a problem at all! I have
tried many times. As long as you ask them to hold the flashlight away, about 15-20cm, you can't see
any light changes at all. What I want to say is that this is the only place to practice this magic,
and the rest is fully automatic!
