Q: Is this based on any previous work?
A: While Lonnie conceived of Clean Thru / Clear Thru independently, there have been other effects involving penetration of bills that came before this one. The history of our art matters, so we want to credit them here.

  • 1996: The Tokyo Penetration by Rue Susato. Published in the Looking Glass Spring 1996 issue. Two bills penetrate through one another.

Impromptu, I could do this anywhere u see a dollar. Now I can show my friends a trick whenever they ask for me to perform, because I'm always unprepared. I don't always carry cards with me wherever I go, but with this trick, im never going to be unprepared.

It is also very easy to do. I learned the trick and performed it perfectly in front of friends just seconds I watched the DvD, which was very easy to follow and quick to the point and is not even that long to watch.

Clean. The trick is very clean and don't see how I could mess up. And I mess up alot sometimes on many diffrent tricks.

I do this everywhere I go, it's very easy to do, very clean, and I could just borrow any bill and do it without having to set up beforehand.

I have bought tons of tricks from here and many other places, and Clean Thru, Clear Thru is now one of my top favorite tricks. Highly recommended. 5+ Stars. BUY IT!!!

well i received it the other day and i was so happy but after learning the methods it really wasn't worth $ 20 but if you want it get it it gave me some really good ideas about bill magic using some of the same methods

overall not that bad but not worth $20 good teaching but its like 10 dollars a trick not worth it in my opinion

I love impromptu Magic and this fits the bill. Lonnie is a fun performer and an excellent thinker. Lonnie is a master of creating easy, yet powerful effects.

Tricks with money, especially borrowed bills always play well and demand attention. While not a routine, these tricks when done together do get a very good audience reactions. You can add these to any money routine, and create a fun routine of your own.

Bottom line, if you like impromptu money magic, you'll love this great DVD. Well worth the $$$

clean thru and clear thru are defiantly two very solid tricks. what i mean by that, is that they are easy to do, the slights are very hard to see,and is what you would expect. the method for clear thru blew. me. away. it was so well thought out! and for 20$, you are getting a bang for your buck. here is the situation: you go to a restaurant or something. your friend introduces you to another friend and says, "hey, show him one of your magic tricks!" you left your cards, coin shells, and thumb tip at home. well, just ask for a bill and perform the effects! simple, (yet genius)impromptu magic tricks that you HAVE to learn.

pros:
the slights are easy
DVD is well taught
its only $20
completely impromptu

cons:
there is slight of hand, (only slight of hand)
so if your not comfortable with getting the precise angle,
this might, might, might, might, not.. be right for you.

overall just 2 great tricks for backup when you forgot
your stacked deck.

Both these effects are great! I love magic with money (coins and paper), and this is a great purchase! The illusions are fantastic!

Lonnie does a great job in teaching you how to perform both effects (as always).

If you want to have a couple of effects to carry with you so you can perform at a moment's notice, then this is it! You won't be disappointed!

While these are both great impromptu tricks-- and if the "quality equation" is 'plays big divided by packs small', it doesn't get any better. They may not play as big as disappearing the Statue of Liberty, but they pack BEYOND small-- everything you need is in the spectator's wallet.

That's a big "pro". They're also completely impromptu, which is always good, and involve the apparent destruction of someone else's money, which always plays well.

I can't review Clean Through, as I've only seen it on the promo video here. Clear Through (Pen Through Dollar, without the pen) is easy for the magician to do while looking impossible to the spectators, although it's best done turning slightly away from your audience (toward the side that the finger piercing the bill is on-- if you're using your right finger, turn slightly to the right for the sake of angles). [I'd also ask for the biggest bill anyone in the audience has in his/her wallet-- again, destroying someone else's money is always a hit, at least with the folks around him/her.

Also, I'd be hesitant using it around magicians, which is the reason for my "half off" title. I taught myself the (admittedly impressive) trick by watching the promo video a couple of times, and have been using it since, since I already had the "gimmick" at hand.

Clean Thru and Clear Thru is one of the easiest bill magic, but effect is so powerful. You can do this anywhere, anytime if you have two one dollar bills.
Yes you can borrow both bills and there is no suspicious sleight of hand at all. :)

This is a really good looking trick. It's takes some getting used to, such as folding for your specific needs and holding your hand in a new way....but so does any good trick.

The only semi awkward moment is folding the tow bills together, but normal people don't look for that sort of thing.

Best thing: You can do it anytime, with anyone's money.
