There is really no other way to put this. Dan Harlan is a genius. The word is thrown around far
too much today, but Dan deserves it. He takes what were generally pretty boring coin vanishes and
turns them into a great routine. The value here is not just the vanishes, but the wonderful routine
that Dan shares with the community. This could easily be a 25 minute spot for someone looking for a
great piece of stand-up material.
I am afraid that my use of hyperbolae may seem over the top.
It is just that good. Making an old book come to life with great pieces is not something that
anyone could do. Dan has the creativity, the chops, and the discernment to do so.
Buy this (and
all of the Tarbell series) right now. It will do you more good than the latest "trick of the
month", and will last into your act These will be the best five bucks you ever spent,

I just wanted to point out that what is really being taught in these lessons above and beyond some
pretty great magic is some very good routines. You are finally going to be able to see how to
perform a set. A group of effects that blend well together that actually make sense. You will get
to learn what it looks like. You can then start to build your own sets from effects that you
already know. It's a tough thing to do. These lessons are just that. Lessons! They are going to
show you much more than just how to do more tricks! Learn from them and you will be a much better
magician! Thank you Dan and Penguin for breathing new life into a series that I have enjoyed my
whole life!

This is a magnificent routine that includes numerous vanishes and appearances of coins with a
variety of methods. None are that difficult and can be used in a variety of ways and in other
routines. Well worth the cost!!!

I reluctantly got the free Tarbell Chapt 1&2. I was sure that if it was free it must not be very
good. Now I am up to 5 and have prepaid ahead. I am hooked. I have been interested in magic since
1958, I have the Tarbell series and a few hundred other books. This series is excellent and I
highly recommend it to all magicians without regard to expertise or experience.

Dan Harlan has embarked on a monumental task. Teaching every trick in Tarbell. He's a brave man and
a good teacher.
I've been a full time performer for 25 years but I'm well aware of my
deficiency's in the basics in our craft. I'm very excited about this journey. I've already corrected
handling in my Miser's Dream thanks to Dan.
This is a wonderful course for the beginner and
a needed review of our art for the professional.

Dan Harlan is one of my favorites and the most gracious and considerate host on Penguin live. I
was surprised to see him embarrass a spectator who didn't understand his instructions. I liked the
material but took two stars away because I don't believe Tarbell would have approved of his
comments about a spectator's inability to follow instructions.

I'm really liking the way Dan Harlen is doing these lessons. He does some updating and on this
lesson makes a nice routine out of several effects. This is a pretty sweet routine.
Wonderful presentation where Dan takes multiple effects from Lesson 5 and weaves them into one
routine, all with just a handful of coins and a few accessories including paper, an envelope,
handkerchief and a glass.
Great routine for beginners in coin magic.
This is really just one trick w/ three ways of getting rid of a coin. It's all right.
I would have given this 5 stars, but it is a bit short. Mr. Harlan has taken a handful of disparate
tricks and routined them, including at least on method from another part of the book.
Coins
jump back to a spectator three different times (3 in the first, 3 in the second, and 1 which is
signed in the third), using 7 different vanishes.
The individual effects are modular and
can easily be used elsewhere.
