-Michael Weber

"Every entry is worthy of the thoughtful cardician's attention. Looking for a book of card material that will actually deliver satisfying results? You need look no further than this."
-Jamy Ian Swiss (Genii Magazine)

"I promise, I will come up with a really good quote for Denis' new book, but at the moment I am just too busy performing his material!"
-Pit Hartling
"Denis Behr doesn't take himself too seriously, but he does take card magic seriously. In his latest literary effort, Handcrafted Card Magic 2, you can read for yourselves why Denis has to be considered a serious author, for what he writes is interesting and original, with the added benefit that the interesting things are also original, and the original things interesting."-Roberto Giobbi

It's a short-but-sweet collection of some of the best card magic in recent years. That's not an exaggeration.

Amazing Material for the Advanced Cardician Report this review
Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on November 22nd, 2015
I felt compelled to write a review on this book when I noticed the poor review that was on here. It is true that Denis does not teach all of the sleights in-depth in the book. In fact, he shouldn't - they aren't his to teach, and this book is not for beginners. This would be akin to complaining that a book on advanced calculus for college students doesn't teach arithmetic.

Denis' material in both this and Vol. 1 of Handcrafted Card Magic is absolute gold, especially for anyone who performs card magic with a stacked or memorized deck. For me, Herbert the Trained Rubber Band alone was worth more than the cost of the book. And don't overlook a very clever ACAAN, or a neat idea that could allow you to stack a deck even after performing the fantastic effect by Chad Long, Shuffling Lesson.

A complete winner for me, and one of the books that I keep going back to read from time to time for inspiration and expert tutelage in card magic. 100% recommended, provided you have the "prerequisites."

Best card magic book ever written Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on June 14th, 2020
each trick could have a 20 dollar price tag and it would be a steal, very underrated. Herbie the trained bandit, amazing caan(can be borrowed but need to be a sleightly armed). great triumphs- do need newish cards, jay sankey paperclipped on steriods. 2 excellent false center deals and the list goes on and for 30 bucks? should be 80 dollars and it would be a steal and i shouldnt write that lol. this is my favorite card magic book for card tricks and basically every referenced book can be bought, ty reprints. buy it, or get his magic on tap. you wont be sorry this book is gold all the way

Good book, but teaches no sleights at all Report this review
Verified buyer Pro Privacy ON (login to see reviewer names) on September 8th, 2014
The book is small and slim because it teaches you no sleights. He refers to books to get slights but some books are costly or it's out of print. This is unfair, how can he assume everyone is a card expert. Forces unseen, one of the hardest magic books ever at least teach you slights. Very wrong and unprofessional. It's ashamed this could of been an amazing book, but seriously nvr assume everyone knows every slight or has every magic book in their library, have a separate section showing the sleight.
