NOTE: Do not confuse this with the original Blindsight. This 100% new method will fool those who have the original trick.

The performer shows four manila envelopes. There is nothing written on the envelopes, nor are they secretly marked. He shows them freely on both sides and points out the envelopes are opaque. The performer hands the envelopes to a participant; saying inside each envelope is a different colored card: Green, red, blue, and yellow. The performer has the participant mix the four envelopes. This is so neither the performer nor the participant will have any clue to which color card is inside of any envelope.

The performer then asks the participant to hand him the envelope that he thinks contains the green card. The performer writes green on the front of that envelope with a black marker. This is done in full view, so the participant can see the word being written. This is repeated with the colors red and blue, with the performer writing those colors on the envelopes while the participant watches and sees the words being written. Nothing is hidden. One envelope is left in the participant's hand.

The performer asks jokingly, "Which envelope do you think contains the yellow card? (The participant says his remaining envelope.) This may not seem to be much of a choice; but it is a choice, as you kept that envelope for the last one. There is no way anyone could have known which envelope you would have left for last. I do not wish to touch that envelope, please continue to hold it for now."

The performer places the three envelopes with the colors written on them in a row on the table. Showing his hands to be empty, he picks up the envelope marked green and opens it removing the colored card inside. It is indeed green! The green card is shown on both sides and dropped on the table. The mouth of the envelope is squeezed open showing the inside. The spectators can see it is empty. This is repeated with the other two envelopes. Again, in both cases, the participant has correctly guessed the colored card inside. Three guesses and all of them correct! A perfect hit!

The kicker ending is yet to come. The performer recaps that he has not touched the envelope remaining in the participant's hand and that no one could have known which envelope he would leave for last.

"Obviously, the yellow card must be in that envelope. Please remove it. There is also a slip of paper inside the envelope. Remember, the other envelopes contained nothing but the colored cards; however, the envelope you are holding is an exception. Please remove the slip of paper and read aloud what is written on it."

Written on the slip is, "I knew this envelope would be your last choice."

At this point, the participant can examine all four envelopes and the colored cards. There is nothing to find. The ending is the same every time. There are no multiple endings.

BAFFLING BEYOND WORDS....LOOKS LIKE A REAL PSYCHIC FEAT...WILL LEAVE YOUR SPECTATORS DUMBFOUNDED!

Additional Facts
Many magicians who have the original effect will be puzzled by this new method. There is no equivoque or multiple endings used in this new version. There is no play on words, and the colors are written in full view of the spectators. The perfect effect, as described in the original Blindsight, happens every time! Nothing is left to chance. All the colors written on the faces of the envelopes are freely shown. The black marker is not gimmicked.

The strongest ending in the original Blindsight is when the envelope chosen for the finale has a prediction slip inside. This new version always ensures that a prediction slip is inside the last envelope for a climax. In the original Blindsight, the cards and envelopes could not be examined at the end. A strong point of this new version is that the participant holds all four envelopes during the routine. At the end, he can examine everything. There is nothing to find as the four envelopes and colored cards are UNGIMMICKED and there are no other hidden predictions. The performer is left clean.

NO GIMMICKED MARKER
NO DOUBLE-SIDED COLORED CARDS
NO PRETEND WRITING
NO ANGLE PROBLEMS
DO IT SURROUNDED
NO SLEIGHTS
NO FORCES OF ANY KIND
NO ONE AHEAD OR BEHIND METHODS
INCLUDES Two Bonus Effects you can do using this new method.

POKER TELLS OUTDONE: Do my Poker Tells effect, by letting a participant correctly tell you which cards are sealed inside opaque envelopes. An entirely different method from the original Poker Tells, as this version has no multiple endings. The same effect as Blindsight Outdone, done under the same conditions, but using 4 aces instead of colored cards.

MONEY SENSE: A very commercial effect in which your participant correctly guesses the value of 4 currency bills sealed inside opaque coin envelopes.

NOTE: Some performers are actually doing the effect for a person who is blind. The blind person is given the envelopes and feels them and correctly guesses the colors inside. Doing this will make the person a hero in the eyes of the audience and get that person a lot of applause. Of course, someone next to blind person will have to read the note inside the envelope. This will fit the bill when challenged to do something for a blind person.

REVIEWS:
"Devin Knight has outdone himself again with Blindsight Outdone, which I predict will become an instant classic! Having the knowledge of the original Blindsight and its variants, I could not fathom how Outdone could be achieved. With a little practice, you will have another miracle in your hands. A real reputation-maker at a bargain price!"
- Robert Marsi

"I never thought that Devin Knight could top his Blindsight, but he has done so quite admirably with his new Blindsight Outdone. The effect will blow away magicians who know the original trick. The method is so devious and well thought out that it left me shaking my head in disbelief!"
- Michael Hart

This is the very definition of "packs small plays big". You can use this as a close-up effect or part of a larger stage show. There is one "move" if you can call it that, and it's the easiest thing in the world done on the offbeat. This effect can be adapted to use 6x9 envelopes if you are careful and work with larger groups, though the "move" will have to be different and done at a different time. And yes, it's all examinable at the end.

Using the standard envelopes included (and you can replace them with a quick trip to the office supply store), the entire routine fits in a coat pocket. It's all presentation, and it's very entertaining. Also, you can easily create backups of the routine so you can have it ready to go in your close-up case and your stage case. You'll have to replace a few envelopes each time you do it, but it's a minor thing. Definitely worth the money if you need a mentalism routine for your act.
