Deck Stab is an in-the-hand card stab that can be done anywhere, anytime. It's created by Adrian Vega, the creator of SCAANDAL and Billing Card.

A card is selected, signed, and returned to the deck. The deck is shuffled and placed back into the card box. The magician takes a knife and stabs it through the deck and the box - the blade can be seen protruding through the box. Now, in one deft move, the knife is slid quickly to the side, with ONE CARD IMPALED on it. Yes, you guessed it - the spectator's signed card! A miracle!

Deck Stab does not require a table at all. You can remove the deck from your pocket and you are ready to perform. It's a perfect routine to close your card act.

Key points to remember:

  • Easy to do
  • No table required
  • Highly visual
  • Perfect for close-up, parlor, or stage

I am not much of a card guy, but it is usually expected to be able to perform a few great card effects. This is effect is straightforward and stunning. The handling of the cards will require practice and confidence, but there is nothing hard or complicated about it. It is well thought out and well taught from the video. It is easy to make and will not take a long time or require anything special to have to purchase. The pay-off is astonishing.

I recommend a time delay after the cards are put back in the case. Leave them in plain view and do some some other effect (I do a color changing knife routine with a regular knife changing into a larger knife climax) I use the larger knife to stab the deck and produce the signed card. Closer.

Downside - you destroy a card box (and the signed card) each time you perform, so you may want to shop around to find some quantities of card boxes. Make up a red deck and a blue deck to give you more options.

You need a fairly sharp knife. Use what fits your style. I prefer a folding pocket knife that matches my color changing knife set.

This may not play for a kids show, but for closing a stand-up routine it is very visual and can play funny or dramatic.

One of the best purchases I've made all year.

BEST DECK STAB HANDS DOWN!!! Report this review

When I first received my DECK STAB, I was a bit put off that the package just contained 10 empty bicycle boxes which needed to be partially constructed and nothing else. After watching the excellent instructional video, I can say without a doubt, THIS IS THE BEST CARD STAB EVER!!
The creator, Adrian Vega explains in detail, all the subtlties and handling of the deck, which you will construct very easily from a normal deck of cards, and once you have done this...about 10 minutes with a pair of scissors only, you will be set to repeat this wonderful classic over and over. The box is the only thing which gets destroyed each performance, oh, and the one selection, which is signed.
If you want a fantastic version of this classic card effect, this is it!

Ok I gave this a three star on my first review. After performing it for a crowd of only five, by the way I KOd them when the only stabbed card to come out the box was the signed one. I recommend this but don't waste too many boxes on practicing. It hits hard. Can't wait to perform it at a show!

It's Construction time but I must say it's a very easy construction. You must supply your own deck and they supply six new rider back boxes. To complete your Gimmick deck you will need to spend like three seconds altering 52 cards... That's three seconds per card. That's the only reason that I give this a three 🌟. If you perform it frequently you will need to buy more empty boxes, or just a new deck per performance. Remember we really are buying the secret sometime and not a gimmick. In this case you are buying the secret and must make the deck gimmickede.
