While Ed Marlo was famous for his ingenious creations with cards, he also devoted a great deal of creativity to magic with other objects including coins, bills, cups and balls, silks, mentalism, dice, linking pins, sponge balls, chop cup, and various small tricks usually sold to kids such as the ball vase, magic frame, snapper, and much, much more. 67 effects and routines, some never before published.

This is one of Marlo's best book I think because it explains all of his other tricks that have nothing to do with just cards. The artwork is cool because it reminds of the old school artwork that was on the S.S. Adam's trick instructions. Some of the tricks include a lot of Adam's tricks as well like Martin Sunshine's Color Vision which include a routine for this cool apparatus. Also cups and balls, ball and vase, three ball routine, coins, ropes, rings and other tricks. The quality of the hardcover book is a 5 star as well with sewn in acid free paper, not just glued in like some cheaply made books. Richard Kaufman and Jon Racherbaumer did an excellent job on this tome. The book is worth more than the price here at Penguin.

Ever wonder what other things Marlo did besides card magic? This the book to learn from. He could also pitch the slum at the treasure chest too! Included is his routine for the Color Vision Box including -- opening the box in front of the spectator, the optical revolve illusion showing all the sides solid, and finally vanishing the cube from the box and having it appear under a hat!

I got this book just to satisfy my curiousity to see what Marlo had done with tricks OTHER than cards.

After reading this, my opinion of him as a magical thinker actually improved. He has some very sneaky ideas using fairly standard props.

It's definitely worth the read.

Wanted this book for the Egg Bag routine which is excellent.Lots of good close-up photographs of each phase. Great ideas on final surprise loads. He used the Lynn Healy Sterling Egg Bag which is the one I purchased from Jeff Busby years ago. Also like other Bar Magic items including Chop Cup and Sponge Ball ideas. Coin workers will also enjoy the "Coin Connivery" section. No card tricks!
