I purchase quite a bit of magic from various dealers and have for many years. This is BY FAR the worst purchase I have EVER made! It's like buying a $100,000 House only to discover that when it comes time to move in you, there's NO HOUSE but only a stack of 2x4's and plywood on the lot and YOU HAVE TO BUILD THE FREAKING HOUSE! AND not everything is there to accomplish the task. You provide the tools, pipe, electrical wiring, so its off to the building supply store...

I urge Penguin to include a disclaimer in the description as to whether the effect in question is a 100% Arts & Crafts project, (Y)es or (N)o...

I'm through buying DIY projects that should come assembled.

OH and the video tutorial is HORRIBLE!!

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

This has to be the worst purchase I have ever made. The only thing that would be any better by selling this product is if they put it together for the purchase to make it even look close to the demo and then maybe informing the buyer that the said gimmick wont last more than a few times. Very weak construction material as well other area' s gimmick is nowhere near hidden with color difference.

I don't know that much about Smagic but this trick/gimmick is really bad. It's all DIY. It comes in a CD case but no CD...just download info which is ok but kinda funny to ship the materials in a CD case. Moving along...the materials provided don't match the color of the case. Took me 2 hours to construct and another thirty-forty minutes to tweek. In my humble opinion and again this is my humble opinion I would never use this for public demonstration. It's terrible and it would be a dis-service to my audience. I don't mind arts and crafts but this one wasn't worth my time or money. Sorry Smagic...try again and please put out something that we magicians can actually use. Maybe next time actually make the gimmick instead. SWITCHBOX by Mickael Chatelain is better in my opinion. Just my thoughts. Magic On Everyone.

JUNK - JUNK - JUNK

So I am in magic for years
And like all the Others buyers who buy retrieve

I can’t deny it is my worst buy for years

2 hrs to construct a gimmick which doesn’t work and
don’t lock

Then the guy who explains first it is a nightmare
to understand what he said and he is repeating
the only few words he knows
So it is a pain to hear ... at least let the subtitles
speak for you or an English translator please

Then during the explanation he forgot most of the
most important part to construct the gimmick
And to make it clear to see and understand where
to put the gimmick Inside the box
There is Only one picture to explain but it is not clear
enough

And there is no instruction to make the locking system functional
So you need to search by yourself

The props provided are not the same color as the
box so you can see even in video the gimmick

In real life it is impossible to show to anyone

Please please please

How is it possible to release that without thinking
about us the customers

Smagic .... please think about it twice
But anyway you will still continue to sell
bad stuff to disgust us from your products

This one is the worst ...

I received DVD box of Retrieve and when i open it, i think that's already made, but i have to finish by my-self. During the time watching the tutorial video and construct, i finish my own gimmick, that's nice, clearly, but not quite good to perform at live-conditions. Personally, i think 4 stars is highest level i can give to this trick. By the way, materials inside the DVD is quite well.

The video has the gimmick being constructed step by step, but it came already made, and made VERY poorly. All the “moving” parts were uneven and did not fit properly, so I spent several days finding the right combination of papers to re-create it right. I think you should ship Retrieve un-made as in the video. Thank you.

The only reason I give this 3 stars is the arts and crafts projects involved. When you buy the extra stuff and/or use the stuff you have laying around it is an excellent gimmick trick. Be prepared to CAREFULLY assemble the gimmick!

With such a garbaje you are killing that hen,because what could be a good bussiness if you avoid things like retrieve you would avoid people like me getting out of you. Apart from that, I,m really tired of magic tricks that openly lie when offering the item. Sorry for my english.

Bought based on trailer... what a mistake it was. First of all, you are not getting a gimmick, but only material to assemble a gimmick which is not easy as the parts are not done properly. I managed to complete mine despite the quality of instruction online video being terrible and guess what... it is not reliable and looks bad... Disappointed in this waste of money :\...
